Attendance was a bit lower at 50 for this further South venue. Salt Fork has a 15" size limit and half of the field caught a keeper size bass. 49 bass were weighed in. Lots of bass were still spawning as a surprise to many this late in the season. Fish were caught in a variety of ways including spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, small crankbaits, and flipping to available wood cover. Salt Fork ia a beautiful lake but the fishing can be tough at times. Many were worried that not enough fish would be caught to fill the checks. I wasn't worried. This is a tribute to the great fishermen we have in the Lakes Trail! Here are the top 5 and Big basses:
st- Nick Cable and Jason Nelson from Dresden, Crooksville (the only 6 bass limit) 15.40lbs $1000.
nd- Mike Urbania and Rich Hall from Cleveland, Hiram 10.44lbs $800.
rd- Mark McQuate and Steve Hatfield from Ashland, Mifflin 7.71lbs $600.
th- Sam Capestrain and John Werren from N. Lawrence,Uniontown 5.93lbs $500.
